ABOUT Peter Banks

Senior Associate

Peter completed his law degree and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle in 2016. In 2017, Peter obtained his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law and was subsequently admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2017.

Whilst completing his law degree, Peter completed work experience at two boutique law firms in Perth. During this time, he developed a passion for assisting individuals grappling with the intersection of their life and the law. This passion led him to practicing in family law, restraining order law and criminal defence law.

Peter has experience representing clients in all areas of Family Law, including complex parenting disputes involving allegations of serious risks of harm, property settlement matters, spousal maintenance, urgent recovery applications, relocation matters, and child support issues. He also brings knowledge of and experience in defending family violence restraining order matters and various types of criminal charges, and how these issues interact with ongoing Family Court proceedings.

Peter prides himself on being able to communicate clear and effective legal advice to his clients and is always mindful of the family unit that will remain following the conclusion of any proceedings. He is a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Western Australia.
